FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — In an impressive display during their season opener, the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks triumphed over Park University Gilbert with a commanding score of 100 to 49. Trenton McLaughlin stood out, contributing significantly to the team’s success with a total of 27 points on the night.
Alongside McLaughlin’s stellar performance, he also secured six rebounds and made five steals, showcasing his all-around skills. Carson Towt made a substantial impact as well, scoring 16 points while also grabbing 11 rebounds and recording three steals. Ryan Abelman added depth to the offense, finishing with 10 points after shooting four of six from the field, including two of four from beyond the arc.
On the other side, Marquis Mckinzy emerged as the top scorer for the Buccaneers, finishing the game with 20 points, yet their efforts fell short against the dominating Lumberjacks.
This season opener highlighted Northern Arizona’s strong potential as they showcased their talent and teamwork right from the start.
