Alabama wideout and return specialist Cole Adams sidelined for the season due to injury

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The Alabama Crimson Tide has announced that wide receiver and return specialist Cole Adams will not be participating for the remainder of the season due to a lower body injury.

Head coach Kalen DeBoer confirmed the news on Monday, just days before Alabama’s matchup against No. 14 LSU this upcoming Saturday. The details regarding the specific nature of Adams’ injury were not disclosed; however, it is known that he sustained the injury during the early part of the game against Missouri a couple of weeks ago, prior to the team’s bye week.

Throughout the season, Adams has accumulated six receptions totaling 94 yards while serving as the team’s primary punt returner. He made his first start at wide receiver during the game against South Carolina, where he was able to secure two catches for 57 yards in light of injuries affecting teammates Kendrick Law and Kobe Prentice.

This isn’t the first time Adams has faced injury challenges, as he previously exited the game against South Florida early due to an injury as well.

Coach DeBoer spoke highly of Adams, stating, “Just seeing the effort he put into that first injury, you really found out a lot about who he was as a person and as a player, just the toughness he had. Unfortunately, he had another injury here now.”

The loss of Adams represents a significant setback for the Crimson Tide as they prepare to face crucial games ahead this season.
