Following a 55-yard field goal from James London of Murray State, Angel Johnson quickly struck back, sprinting for a 67-yard touchdown that extended South Dakota State’s lead to 14-3.

Midway through the second quarter, Amar Johnson added to the scoreboard with a 44-yard touchdown run, increasing the lead to 28-6. As halftime approached, Hunter Dustman capped off the half with a 29-yard field goal, bringing the score to 38-6.

In total, South Dakota State’s ground game was dominant, amassing 343 yards and five rushing touchdowns. Backup quarterback Chase Mason also had a solid outing, going 10 of 16 for 82 yards and contributing a touchdown both through the air and on the ground.

Murray State, having joined the MVFC in 2023 as its newest member, continues to search for its first conference win as the season progresses.
