Tina Knowles is set to release her memoir in the spring, an announcement that is likely to delight her numerous fans.
The influential fashion designer and mother of music icons Beyoncé, Solange Knowles, and also Kelly Rowland—whom she affectionately refers to as her “bonus daughter”—has inked a publishing deal with Random House Publishing Group for a book titled “Matriarch.”
The publisher describes it as a narrative that chronicles the life of a determined, self-aware woman who has played a pivotal role in shaping and inspiring some remarkable artists of today.
This memoir is slated for release on April 22.
In a statement, Tina Knowles expressed her lifelong passion for storytelling, which she attributes to her own mother. “When I started my own family, I knew it was important for my daughters to understand their roots; it’s essential for them to navigate their future,” she remarked.
She elaborated on the title “Matriarch,” explaining that it reflects her belief in the wisdom that women share across generations, as well as the personal insights that many seek to discover within themselves.
At 70, she feels that she continues to learn lessons that resemble those she encountered in her younger years. This motivated her to share her journey, recognizing its significance for her, her daughters, and future female generations.
Recently, Tina was celebrated as one of Glamour’s Women of the Year, with her daughter Beyoncé present at the awards ceremony in New York City.
“Matriarch” will be published under Random House’s One World imprint, joining the esteemed ranks of other celebrated authors like Ta-Nehisi Coates, Trevor Noah, and Cathy Park Hong.
