A powered parachute aircraft tragically overturned during landing in Nicholasville, Kentucky, resulting in the fatalities of both individuals on board, local authorities have reported.
The incident occurred on a Sunday evening in Nicholasville, located to the south of Lexington. The Jessamine County Sheriff’s office shared details about the crash on social media platforms. Sheriff Kevin Grimes confirmed during a press briefing that both a man and a woman lost their lives in the accident.
Identified as a Buckeye Dream Machine, the aircraft flipped while attempting to land around 5:45 p.m. The National Transportation Safety Board has begun an investigation into the occurrence, with a preliminary report anticipated to be released within the next 30 days.
