CAIRO — The Health Ministry in Gaza has announced that the ongoing conflict with Israel has resulted in over 43,000 fatalities over the past year. Reports indicate that a significant portion of those casualties, specifically more than half, consist of women and children.
The ministry’s recent update includes the addition of 96 deceased individuals who were brought to hospitals in Gaza in the last two days. As of now, the official count stands at 43,020 fatalities, with an additional 101,110 people reported to be injured since the hostilities began on October 7, 2023. However, the ministry has not provided distinctions between military personnel and civilians in their reports.
