MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — In an impressive display of skill, Tyvon Edmonds Jr. and Ethan Shine each contributed to the scoreboard with short touchdown runs, while Robert Morris University’s defense limited St. Francis of Pennsylvania to a mere 130 yards in a convincing 17-0 victory on Saturday.

With this win, Robert Morris improved their record to 5-3 overall and maintained an unbeaten 4-0 run in the Northeast Conference, putting them half a game ahead of Duquesne, who triumphed over Stonehill with a score of 48-34 on the same day.

Shine initiated the scoring with a 1-yard touchdown run, which established an early 7-0 lead for the Colonials in the first quarter. Jayson Jenkins extended the lead with a field goal from 43 yards in the second quarter, and Edmonds netted another 1-yard run in the third quarter, bringing the final score to 17-0.

Defensively, Robert Morris showcased a robust performance, restricting St. Francis to only 69 yards through the air and 61 yards on the ground. The Red Flash managed a total of just eight first downs and struggled on third down opportunities, converting only 3 out of 15 attempts.

Anthony Chiccitt had a noteworthy outing, completing 15 of 29 passes for a total of 197 yards, while Edmonds emerged as the top rusher of the game with 69 yards. Just two games earlier, the Colonials had already recorded a shutout against Delaware State, winning 23-0.

This latest victory reinforces Robert Morris’s status as a formidable contender in the league, as they look to maintain their momentum as the season progresses.
