NORTH ANDOVER, Mass. — In an impressive display of offensive power, Jermaine Corbett rushed for 170 yards and scored twice, while Brandon Wyatt contributed an additional 101 yards and another touchdown, leading Merrimack to a decisive 48-28 victory over Stonehill on Saturday.

The Warriors showcased a dominant running game, accumulating a staggering total of 375 rushing yards, averaging 7.4 yards per carry on 51 attempts.

The most notable moment in the first half came when Ayden Pereira connected with Jalen McDonald on a 51-yard touchdown pass. Corbett also added to the score with a 6-yard and a 2-yard touchdown run, giving Merrimack a commanding 27-0 lead by halftime.

Stonehill made a strong comeback in the third quarter, amassing nearly 200 yards of offense and scoring three touchdowns, which narrowed the deficit to 34-21 as they headed into the final quarter. However, Pereira’s touchdown pass and a 42-yard touchdown run from Malakai Anthony sealed the game for Merrimack, now with a season record of 3-4.

Pereira completed the game with 94 passing yards, hitting 8 of 14 attempts, and tossed two touchdowns. On the other side, Jack O’Connell for Stonehill finished 12 of 24 for 166 yards, scoring one touchdown but also throwing two interceptions, contributing to the team’s struggles as they fell to 1-5 for the season.

Ultimately, Merrimack outgained Stonehill in total yards, finishing with 479 yards compared to Stonehill’s 321, reflecting a significant advantage in their ground game and overall offensive execution.
