PARIS — The forthcoming Nations League soccer match between Israel and France will proceed as scheduled, with the event to be held under normal conditions, according to statements from French officials. This announcement came following Italy’s recent hosting of Israel in the same tournament, where the match occurred without any security incidents despite heightened concerns.
Laurent Nuñez, the police prefect of Paris, confirmed that the game is set to take place at the Stade de France on November 14. He assured that the event would follow the standard protocols associated with Nations League matches and would be open to spectators.
In a related context, Italy faced off against Israel in a Nations League match, where Italy emerged victorious with a score of 4-1. This game was held amid the backdrop of ongoing conflicts in the Middle East, which have recently escalated into Lebanon, following a prolonged war in Gaza.
This match in France marks a significant moment for Israel, being their first match outside of neutral ground Hungary in the past year. Since the outbreak of the Israel-Hamas conflict on October 7 of the previous year, the national team has participated only in games in Kosovo and Andorra last November.
Since then, all of Israel’s matches have taken place in Hungary, including September’s game against Belgium in Nations League action. This was necessary after the Belgian Football Association declined to host the match due to security concerns related to the ongoing situation.
