The purse for this tournament is $7 million, with the winner’s take being $1.26 million. Fans can catch the action from Thursday to Sunday, airing from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the Golf Channel. The event sees Tom Kim defending his title.
Notably, Scottie Scheffler is also a champion of the FedEx Cup. Last week’s winner, Matt McCarty, enters this tournament with momentum after claiming his first PGA Tour victory in Utah. McCarty has previously aimed to qualify for the Las Vegas event on Mondays. Furthermore, Henrik Norlander secured a top-10 finish last week, allowing him to move up in the FedEx Cup rankings to No. 119.
Tom Kim is aiming for a remarkable third consecutive victory at the Shriners Children’s Open, having already won two of his three PGA Tour titles in Las Vegas. The last player to achieve three straight tournament victories was Steve Stricker at the John Deere Classic from 2009 to 2011. There are six players from the top 50 in the world ranking participating this year, which bolsters the competitiveness of the field.
Former British Amateur champion Christo Lamprecht has received a sponsor exemption for the event after opting to turn professional and compete in the Korn Ferry Tour instead of participating in the U.S. Open. Additionally, Tom Hoge is one of eight players from Las Vegas who finished in the top 50 for the FedEx Cup rankings this year.
Looking ahead, the next event on the PGA Tour calendar will be the Zozo Championship.

Since its inception in 2010, the tournament has showcased past winners including Matt Fitzpatrick in 2021 and Christiaan Bezuidenhout in 2019, both of whom have not competed for LIV Golf.

This tournament marks the second leg of a four-week swing through Asia. Among the competitors are nine of the top ten players in the Race to CME Globe, though the top-ranked Nelly Korda is absent as she hasn’t played since the Kroger Queen City Championship on September 22.
A noteworthy fact is that three of the four previous BMW Ladies Championships concluded in a playoff, aside from Lydia Ko’s four-shot victory in 2022. Danielle Kang, who has struggled to find a top-10 finish in her last 30 global starts, has received a sponsor exemption but has dropped to No. 191 in the world ranking.
The tournament has a total of 78 players participating, and five athletes have surpassed the $2 million mark in earnings this season on the LPGA Tour. Japanese rookie Mao Saigo leads the LPGA rookie points race and is set to play after securing a runner-up finish to Ruoning Yin last week in Shanghai.
Next week, the Maybank Championship will take place.
