MULTAN, Pakistan — On Monday, England’s cricket captain Ben Stokes was named to the squad for the second Test against Pakistan in Multan after successfully recovering from a hamstring injury.
Stokes is one of two players making a comeback to the lineup that achieved an impressive victory in the first Test of the series, which also took place in Multan.
The team has also welcomed seamer Matt Potts back into the fold, while Gus Atkinson and Chris Woakes will not be part of this match.
The scheduled start for this match is Tuesday.
Stokes had been sidelined since August due to a torn hamstring, which prevented him from participating in the entire series during England’s 2-1 win over Sri Lanka.
Prior to this injury, he played in all three Tests during the series against the West Indies, where his team achieved a clean sweep, winning 3-0.
Potts last donned the England jersey in the second Test against Sri Lanka at Lord’s, although he did take part in the recent One Day International series against Australia.
The England team for this Test includes: Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Harry Brook, Ben Stokes (captain), Jamie Smith, Brydon Carse, Matt Potts, Jack Leach, and Shoaib Bashir.
