In a commanding display, Kayvon Britten propelled Tarleton State to a decisive 42-0 victory over Utah Tech on Saturday night in Stephenville, Texas. Britten rushed for three touchdowns, two of which came during a spectacular first quarter where the team scored 28 points.

Britten opened the scoring with an impressive 62-yard touchdown run just three plays into the game, setting the tone for the contest. He added another touchdown midway through the first quarter, extending Tarleton’s lead to 14-0. Braelon Bridges then contributed a 3-yard touchdown run, and shortly before the end of the quarter, Derrel Kelley III capped off the scoring for the period with a 10-yard run, making it 28-0.

The second quarter saw Britten adding a 17-yard touchdown run to his tally, followed by a significant 71-yard touchdown pass from Victor Gabalis to Darius Cooper, pushing the score to 42-0 with 9:25 remaining before halftime. Both Britten and Gabalis had outstanding performances, with Britten totaling 135 yards on just eight carries and Gabalis completing 10 of 12 passes for 201 yards, although he did throw one interception. Cooper was also a standout receiver, making four catches for 141 yards. Impressively, all three players were rested for the entire second half.

Utah Tech struggled offensively, with freshman quarterback Bronson Barben completing 17 of 40 passes for 129 yards, while also throwing one interception. The Trailblazers, who remain winless this season with an 0-7 record, managed to accumulate only 222 total yards on offense while surrendering 476 yards to the dominating Tarleton State team, which boosted its record to 6-1 overall and 3-0 in the United Athletic Conference.
