ST. CHARLES, Mo. — In a solid performance on Saturday, Cortezz Jones scored two rushing touchdowns, while Logan Seibert shattered the school’s career field-goal record, leading Lindenwood to a 29-14 victory over Charleston Southern.

Nate Glantz contributed significantly, throwing for 152 yards and rushing for an impressive 103 yards for the Lions, who improved their season record to 3-4 and 2-1 in the Big South/OVC. Jones made a notable impact in the first half with both of his touchdown runs and finished the game with a total of 54 rushing yards.

Seibert’s standout performance included five successful field goals, bringing his career total to 41, which puts him ahead of the previous record held by Halley Ferrell (2006-08) by one. His two field goals before halftime helped establish a 20-10 lead for Lindenwood, and he was the sole scorer in the second half, securing the win.

Lindenwood’s defense showcased its strength by limiting the Buccaneers to a mere 197 total yards, effectively shutting out Charleston Southern in the second half. Despite this, the Buccaneers managed to score twice in the last 80 seconds of the first half. Trayson Fowler made a significant play with a 72-yard interception return for a touchdown, and just 14 seconds later, Ja’Kobe North capitalized on a Glantz fumble, returning it 47 yards for another score.

This victory highlights the strengths and capabilities of the Lindenwood Lions as they continue their campaign in college football, marking a crucial step in their season.
