Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons missed his first NFL game due to a high ankle sprain, sitting out Sunday’s game against Pittsburgh. Parsons sustained the injury in a previous game against the New York Giants on Sept. 26. Along with Parsons, the Cowboys were without defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence (foot) and wide receiver Brandin Cooks (knee), who were both placed on injured reserve.

On the other side, the Pittsburgh Steelers faced absence in their running back corps as Jaylen Warren (knee) and Cordarrelle Patterson (ankle) were inactive, leaving Najee Harris as the primary option with Aaron Shampklin as the backup. Linebacker Alex Highsmith (groin) missed his second consecutive game while Russell Wilson served as the emergency third quarterback for the fifth straight week, continuing his recovery from a calf injury.

In addition, several players were inactive for both teams. For Dallas, quarterback Trey Lance, cornerback Caelen Carson, running back Deuce Vaughn, defensive end K.J. Henry, offensive tackle Matt Waletzko, and tight end John Stephens Jr. were sidelined. In contrast, Pittsburgh had rookie wide receiver Roman Wilson, guard Max Scharping, and tight end MyCole Pruitt listed as inactive.

The game presented challenges for both the Cowboys and the Steelers as they navigated through key player absences due to injuries. Each team had to make adjustments to their lineup in the absence of significant contributors, emphasizing the importance of depth and resilience in the competitive landscape of the NFL.
