Napheesa Collier had a remarkable performance in the WNBA playoff game, scoring 42 points to tie a playoff record for points in a single game. Her outstanding performance led the Minnesota Lynx to a 101-88 victory over the Phoenix Mercury on Wednesday night.
Collier’s 42-point game tied the likes of Breanna Stewart and Angel McCoughtry for the playoff record when she made a free throw with 3:18 left in the fourth quarter. She only missed two free throws out of 14 attempts throughout the game. Collier was substituted out of the game with 58.3 seconds left, leaving a lasting impact with her record-tying performance.
In Game 1, Collier had already showcased her scoring abilities by putting up a career-high 38 points. With this outstanding feat in Game 2, she became the first player in WNBA history to score 38 or more points in consecutive playoff games.
