In Madison, Wisconsin, a bizarre incident unfolded as a woman was arrested for burglary after making herself feel right at home in a stranger’s house, even going as far as preparing a shrimp and pasta dinner. The homeowner returned late one evening to find the lights on and an unfamiliar person inside the residence, according to a report by the Madison police.
Upon the arrival of law enforcement, the woman was casually wandering around the house, and when ordered to come to the door, she confidently claimed to the officers that she had the resident’s permission to be there. She even mentioned the resident by name and asserted that she was given the keys to the house earlier that day after meeting the resident at a coffee shop.
Further investigation by the police revealed that the woman not only cooked a meal but also rummaged through mail and personal items to gather information about the resident and construct a false narrative. The homeowner, however, adamantly refuted having any prior acquaintance with the woman who was subsequently taken into custody.
Madison, located approximately 80 miles west of Milwaukee, was the setting for this strange turn of events where an unwelcome guest went to great lengths to make herself comfortable in a stranger’s home, ultimately leading to her arrest on charges of burglary.
