Britten’s impressive performance included 273 rushing yards and four touchdowns. His remarkable runs included a 96-yard touchdown and a 65-yard scoring sprint that helped Tarleton State take the lead at 21-14 in the third quarter. Earlier in the game, Britten also found the end zone with a 2-yard run and a 9-yard rush towards the end of the match.
This outstanding rushing display by Britten marked the most yards gained since Derrel Kelly III’s 239-yard game against Houston Christian in 2022. On the North Alabama side, Jayvian Allen contributed a 10-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. Quarterbacks TJ Smith and Ben Harris combined for 196 passing yards, with Smith also leading the ground game for the Lions with 72 rushing yards on 14 carries. North Alabama’s scoring efforts included field goals from Scott Payne, who successfully kicked from 20 and 22 yards in the first half.
The victory for Tarleton State improves their season record to 3-1 overall and 1-0 in conference play, marking a strong start to their campaign.
