Juan “Cucho” Hernández had a significant impact on the game after coming on as a substitute at the start of the second half as the Columbus Crew managed to secure a 4-3 victory over Orlando City on Saturday night. In the 30th minute, Diego Rossi opened the scoring for Columbus with the help of assists from Christian Ramírez and Mohamed Farsi. Ramírez then extended the lead with a goal in the 51st minute, with assists from Max Arfsten and Aziel Jackson.
Hernández further bolstered the Crew’s lead by scoring his 15th goal of the season in the 71st minute, with Arfsten and Jackson providing the assists. Orlando City managed to pull back with goals from Ramiro Enrique and Luis Muriel, but Jackson sealed the victory for Columbus with his first goal of the season in the 85th minute, assisted by Hernández.
Muriel added another goal in stoppage time, but it was not enough to change the outcome of the game. Patrick Schulte made one save for the Crew, while Pedro Gallese stopped one shot for Orlando City. The Crew will face D.C. United next Saturday, while Orlando City will play against FC Dallas on the same day.
