Crawford, a devoted Nebraska sports fan, wanted to support the team amidst the intense hype surrounding the match. He spent time with the players and coach Matt Rhule, offering words of encouragement and motivation before the game.

Having never met Rhule before, Crawford spent time with him on Friday night, watching games and bonding. The boxing champ addressed the team, urging them to believe in themselves and play with determination. Crawford’s presence left a significant impact on the players, with receiver Jaylen Lloyd describing the atmosphere in the locker room as “crazy” when Crawford entered.

Crawford also had a brief encounter with Colorado coach Deion Sanders before the game, receiving praise for his community work in Omaha. Crawford owns and operates the B&B Sports Academy, where he influences children through boxing and other activities promoting confidence, discipline, and healthy habits. During the Tunnel Walk, he proudly displayed his custom-made championship belt and wore a Nebraska jersey with the No. 140, a nod to his past achievements in boxing.

After the game, where the Huskers secured a 28-10 victory over Colorado, Crawford accepted a game ball from Rhule. Despite the win, Crawford expressed disappointment over the team’s performance in the second half when they were held scoreless.
