Denver Broncos cornerback Patrick Surtain II has signed a lucrative four-year contract extension worth $96 million, with $77.5 million guaranteed, according to a source familiar with the agreement. The average annual value of $24 million makes Surtain the highest-paid defensive back in the NFL, surpassing Antoine Winfield Jr. and Jaire Alexander. The fifth-year option previously exercised by the Broncos ensured Surtain $19.802 million in 2025, with him set to earn approximately $3.5 million this season. The new extension will commence in 2026, extending Surtain’s tenure in Denver through the 2029 season. The team has not formally announced the deal yet. The Broncos will kick off their upcoming season under coach Sean Payton this Sunday in Seattle.
