Brooks Koepka clinched his second win of the year in the LIV Golf League by shooting 7-under 73 at The Greenbrier and emerging victorious over Jon Rahm on the first playoff hole. Rahm, who squandered a four-shot lead at the Olympics, kicked off the final round with a two-shot advantage and concluded with a 65. He birdied two of the last three holes, tying Koepka at 19-under 191 to force a playoff. The playoff took place at the par-3 18th hole, where Rahm faced challenges, ultimately missing a par putt that would have extended the playoff.
This triumph marks Koepka’s second victory in the LIV Golf League this year. Since the league’s inception in June 2022, Koepka has secured his fifth career win. Jason Kokrak finished third after shooting a remarkable 63. Richard Bland, a 51-year-old senior major winner from England, fell short by needing a crucial birdie on the 18th hole but scoring a bogey instead, concluding two shots behind the leaders.
Koepka’s team, Smash, also claimed victory, winning the team title by a margin of three shots. This win adds to Koepka’s growing list of accomplishments in the LIV Golf League.
