Cardinals halt 5-game skid with 5-2 win over Dodgers, powered by 3 home runs

The St. Louis Cardinals ended their five-game losing streak by defeating the Los Angeles Dodgers 5-2 on Saturday night. Masyn Winn, Alec Burleson, and Nolan Arenado all hit home runs during the game. Andre Pallante pitched well, allowing just two runs over seven innings, with JoJo Romero and Ryan Helsley securing the victory.
Shohei Ohtani of the Dodgers had a notable game, going 2 for 3 with a home run and two stolen bases. This performance helped him break out of a recent batting slump. On the pitching side, Bobby Miller struggled for the Dodgers, giving up four runs in less than five innings.
Winn’s home run in the fifth inning extended the Cardinals’ lead, with Ohtani also hitting a home run earlier in the same inning. Arenado added another homer in the eighth inning. Burleson contributed a home run in the third inning, helping St. Louis take the lead.
In injury updates, the Dodgers activated RHP Ryan Brasier from the injured list and recalled Miller from the minors. For the Cardinals, RHP Lance Lynn and OF Michael Siani made progress in their recovery from injuries.
In the next game, Dodgers’ Clayton Kershaw is set to face off against the Cardinals’ Andre Pallante on Sunday.
