Cam Ward made a significant impact with his debut at Miami, while Diego Pavia also shined in his first game at Vanderbilt. Pavia, a transfer from New Mexico State, led Vanderbilt to an impressive overtime victory against Virginia Tech. He threw for 190 yards and two touchdowns, in addition to rushing for 104 yards and a touchdown, including the game-winning score in overtime.

Meanwhile, Ward, the former Washington State quarterback, had a standout performance for Miami, throwing for 385 yards and three touchdowns in a commanding 41-17 win over Florida. Ward’s versatility was on display as he also rushed for 33 yards in the game. Other transfer quarterbacks also made impacts in their debuts on Saturday:

– Will Howard of No. 2 Ohio State impressed with 228 yards and three touchdown passes in a blowout win over Akron.
