Nando’s PERi-PERi is offering free food to federal workers in Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. On Friday, March 7, 2025, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., current and recently laid-off federal employees can get a free quarter-chicken and chips. This giveaway is in honor of National Employee Appreciation Day.
Who can get free food?
Federal workers who still have their jobs or lost them in the last six months qualify for this deal. To participate, they must show proof of employment. Each guest can get only one free meal, and it is available while supplies last.
Nando’s locations in Montgomery County, Maryland, are participating. These include restaurants in Gaithersburg, North Bethesda, Silver Spring, and Wheaton. Other DMV-area locations are also part of the deal except for the Virginia Beach restaurant.
Why Nando’s is doing this
Nando’s wants to thank federal workers for their service. They recognize the hard work of employees who help veterans, keep planes safe, and do other important jobs. This free meal is a way to show appreciation on this special day.
The free meal includes a quarter-chicken (leg or breast) and a side of chips. It is only available on March 7, 2025, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The offer is for dine-in and take-out orders only. Customers cannot combine it with other promotions, and no substitutions are allowed.

Federal workers in the DMV area can enjoy a free, flame-grilled meal from Nando’s as a token of appreciation. Be sure to bring proof of employment and visit early before supplies run out!
