Mexican cartels plot drone attacks on US border agents

Mexican drug cartels are planning direct attacks on US Border Patrol agents using kamikaze drones and explosives, according to a leaked internal memo obtained by The Post. The memo, titled “Officer Safety Alert,” warns federal agents to stay vigilant and report any drone sightings as the cartels escalate their tactics amid President Donald Trump’s border crackdown.

The El Paso Sector Intelligence and Operations Center (EPT-IOC) issued the warning on February 1, citing intelligence from social media and other sources that cartel leaders have authorized drone attacks against both Border Patrol and US military personnel stationed at the border.

Agents are now advised to carry body armor, and first aid kits, and keep rifles readily accessible as the risk of violent confrontations grows.

The memo also highlights disturbing social media posts from cartel-linked accounts encouraging migrants to assault US immigration officers, spit in their food, and even target them for assassination.

This escalation follows Trump’s aggressive measures to secure the border, including deploying 10,000 troops and ramping up deportation raids led by Border Czar Tom Homan.

The crackdown threatens cartel profits from human smuggling and drug trafficking, prompting them to resort to increasingly desperate and violent measures. Law enforcement agencies remain on high alert, monitoring cartel activities closely as tensions rise along the US-Mexico border.
