Meghan Markle Mocked: Pretzel Bag Scene Sparks TV Jokes

Meghan Markle Mocked Over Netflix Show

Meghan Markle mocked relentlessly by late-night hosts and critics, as her Netflix show With Love, Meghan becomes a source of widespread ridicule. The Duchess of Sussex hoped to present a lifestyle series filled with personal touches, but instead, it has become the subject of public mockery.

During The Tonight Show, host Jimmy Fallon took a dig at Meghan’s pretzel bag segment. When asked about “the number one question that mystifies scientists,” Fallon joked, “Is there life on another planet?” His co-host Steve Higgins responded, “No. Why does Meghan Markle make her own pretzel bags?” The audience erupted in laughter as Fallon doubled down, calling it “confusing.”

The joke referred to a moment in With Love, Meghan, where Markle emptied store-bought pretzels into her own bag before offering them to guests. Critics labeled the move unnecessary and out of touch, fueling even more mockery online.

Celebrities and TV Stars Join the Meghan Markle Mockery

Meghan Markle mocked not only by comedians but also by fellow celebrities. Actress Justine Bateman slammed Meghan and Prince Harry, accusing them of turning victimhood into an “Olympic sport.” Great British Bake Off judge Prue Leith added to the criticism, saying she was “not a Meghan Markle fan” and dismissed the Duchess’s obsession with appearance and social perception.

Netflix stars have also spoken out. Whitney Cummings called With Love, Meghan a massive “f*** you” to the Royal Family. Katherine Ryan, once a supporter, said Meghan’s attempts to appear humble felt forced. Christina Pazsitzky went further, calling both Meghan and her show “highly inauthentic” and “phony.”

Vogue Williams, sister-in-law to Kate Middleton’s sister Pippa, mocked Meghan’s colorful fruit platter and laughed at one of her outfits, describing it as “disgusting.”

Critics Call With Love, Meghan a Flop

The harsh reviews did not stop there. TV critics slammed the series, with the Guardian calling it “gormless lifestyle filler” and suggesting it could be Meghan’s final Netflix project. The Telegraph branded it “insane” and “an exercise in narcissism.”

Despite this backlash, Netflix has already completed filming a second season, set to premiere in the fall.

Meghan Markle’s Hollywood Struggles Continue

Meghan Markle mocked across multiple platforms highlights her struggles in Hollywood. Since stepping back from royal duties, her efforts to carve out a media empire have been met with mixed reactions. Following the controversial Harry & Meghan documentary and the short-lived Archetypes podcast, many hoped With Love, Meghan would be her redemption. Instead, it has intensified criticism.

Prince Harry made a brief appearance at the end of the show’s final episode, joining Meghan, her mother Doria Ragland, and friends for a celebratory brunch. His presence, however, did little to salvage the series. The Sussexes, who signed a $100 million deal with Netflix in 2020, have yet to produce a hit that resonates with audiences.

What’s Next for Meghan?

The public scrutiny will likely continue. A second season of With Love, Meghan is already in the works, and the Duchess recently announced a new podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder. This latest venture, launching in April, will feature conversations with female entrepreneurs about their challenges and successes.

However, with growing backlash and her latest Netflix project widely panned, Meghan Markle mocked on such a large scale could make it difficult for her to rebrand as a media mogul. Whether she can turn public perception around remains to be seen.
