Liberal women share why they’re embracing the 4B movement and going on a sex strike

A wave of American women is taking to social media, declaring a new form of protest against Donald Trump’s re-election by cutting ties with men altogether. Inspired by South Korea’s “4B Movement,” they are embracing principles of “no dating, no sex, no marriage, and no children” as a way to retaliate against what they view as a political setback for women’s rights.

Inspired by 4B: The Movement Taking Hold in America

The 4B Movement began in South Korea as a response to rising gender violence and a government mandate on birth expectations. Outraged by policies and events that seemed to reduce women to mere caretakers, South Korean women launched the radical movement. American women now find inspiration in this idea, urging others to withdraw from relationships with men as an act of protest.

“Stop Putting Out for Men” — Social Media Goes Viral

On platforms like TikTok, some women are sharing their frustrations in blunt terms. “Stop f****** these men—they don’t care about you,” one TikToker declared, encouraging women to turn to alternatives and “stock up” on self-care items for “moments of weakness.” Another user, with 23,000 followers, declared, “We’re taking coochie off the table indefinitely.”

Shaving Heads and Rejecting Beauty Standards

Beyond relationships, women are challenging traditional beauty norms. Videos are circulating of women shaving their heads, rejecting societal expectations. “Forget being skinny or hot. Stop dating men, stop having sex with men, stop talking to men,” said one TikTok user as she chopped off her locks.

“Be Loud, Be Angry” – A Call to Take Action

Encouraging others to express their anger, some influencers are calling for women to embrace their emotions without fear. “We’re conditioned to feel sadness over anger. Be loud! They already hate you,” urged Hope Cavendish to her 31,000 followers, suggesting that there’s no point in conforming to men’s expectations.

Concerns Over Declining Birth Rates

With South Korea now experiencing the world’s lowest birth rate, some wonder if this movement’s popularity in the U.S. could have similar long-term impacts. As the movement grows, women are finding solace and solidarity, creating an online space where they can discuss living free of male influence, all while challenging conservative societal expectations.

Protests for Reproductive Rights Gain Momentum

Many women, concerned about what Trump’s re-election might mean for their rights, are voicing their fears online. This rising movement is fostering an anonymous community where frustrations with traditional gender roles and fears over reproductive rights are shared openly, highlighting a growing wave of resistance across the country.
