Lauren Sanchez, 55, is under fire for her daring outfit at Donald Trump’s inauguration. The fiancée of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos caused a stir when she unveiled a bold look that left little to the imagination.
Initially, Sanchez looked chic and cozy as she arrived at the US Capitol Rotunda in Washington, D.C., on Monday morning. Wearing a long white mohair coat, buttoned in the middle, she appeared ready for the occasion. Her dark brown hair was styled in loose waves tied in a low ponytail, with soft tendrils framing her face.
But when she removed her coat inside, all eyes turned to her racy outfit. Sanchez revealed a white pantsuit with a matching jacket, under which her white lace bra was clearly visible. The outfit quickly became the talk of social media, sparking outrage and criticism.
The bold ensemble set X (formerly Twitter) on fire. Users were quick to share their opinions about Sanchez’s choice of attire.
“Good grief, Lauren Sanchez. Put them away for one day,” one user complained.
“Lauren Sanchez is wearing a bra,” another wrote in disbelief.
“Just when I was luxuriating in the beauty and class of @FLOTUS45, in walks Lauren Sanchez wearing only a bra,” another slammed.
Others were even harsher. “Why does Lauren Sánchez always dress like a hooker? FFS dress appropriately,” an exasperated user ranted.
“Lauren Sanchez’s completely inappropriate dress today,” another added. “Really, a bra plainly visible. Today is NOT a nightclub event. Show some class & dignity.”
Interestingly, the outfit appeared to be the same one Sanchez wore during a chat with Forbes executive vice president Moira Forbes at the 2024 Forbes Power Women’s Summit in September. This isn’t the first time her wardrobe choices have drawn attention, but the backlash this time was particularly intense.
Lauren Sanchez’s wardrobe choices at the inauguration have left the public divided. While some praised her boldness, many were appalled by what they deemed an inappropriate look for such a significant event.
