Kyiv Hit By Russian Missiles and Drones: 9 Dead

  • Russian missile and drone attacks kill 9 and injure 63 in Kyiv.
  • Trump blames Zelenskyy for blocking peace talks.
  • Ukraine faces growing pressure as the war continues.

A major Russian attack struck Kyiv overnight. Officials confirmed that both ballistic missiles and drones were used, resulting in Kyiv hit heavily. The Kyiv City Military Administration said the assault hit at least four neighborhoods. The attack began at around 1:00 a.m. and caused serious damage to residential areas. Fires broke out in many buildings. Nine people died, and another 63, including six children, suffered injuries. Emergency teams rushed in to help as chaos spread across the city. Ukraine’s State Emergency Service reported 42 people went to the hospital. Rescue workers searched for victims under the rubble early Thursday morning.

Fires Spread After Impact as Emergency Crews Respond

Tymur Tkachenko, the head of the city’s military administration, said the situation is very serious. He urged citizens to treat every warning with care after Kyiv hit by the attack. Many buildings caught fire after being hit. In Sviatoshynskyi district, a residential building was heavily damaged. A fire broke out there shortly after the strike. Tkachenko said all emergency services are active and on the ground. Soldiers, medics, and rescue teams are working hard to help people. He told residents to stay in shelters and protect their loved ones. “This is not the first time,” he said, “but we must stay strong.”

Trump Blames Zelenskyy for Slowing Peace Talks

At the same time, former U.S. President Donald Trump criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Trump accused Zelenskyy of making peace harder to achieve. He pointed to Zelenskyy’s recent comments about Crimea. The Ukrainian leader said Ukraine will never give up the region. “This is our land,” Zelenskyy said on Tuesday. In response, Trump said those words made things worse. He called Zelenskyy’s comments “inflammatory” and claimed they stop peace talks. According to Trump, nobody is asking Ukraine to recognize Crimea as Russian. But he questioned why Ukraine didn’t fight harder for it back in 2014 when Russia took it.

Trump Warns Ukraine Could Lose More if War Continues

Trump went further, saying Ukraine is in a difficult situation. He believes Zelenskyy must choose between peace and more fighting. Trump said the war could continue for three more years. He warned that Ukraine could end up losing everything. He also said that Zelenskyy is not helping by making bold public statements. “This will only prolong the killing field,” Trump said. His words sparked strong reactions from both supporters and critics. While Trump claims he wants peace, many argue his comments weaken Ukraine’s position and support from allies.

US Support for Ukraine May Be at Risk

Adding to the tension, Trump’s running mate JD Vance also issued a threat. He said the U.S. may pull back its support for Ukraine. That comment alarmed many in Kyiv. Ukrainian leaders depend on U.S. military and financial aid to continue the fight. Without it, their ability to resist Russian attacks would suffer. This possible policy shift could change the war’s course. While Ukraine continues to stand firm, its leadership now faces pressure from outside as well as ongoing strikes from Russia.

Ukraine Holds Firm While the Crisis Deepens

Despite the deadly missile strikes and political pressure, Ukraine is not backing down. Zelenskyy and his government say they will not give up any land. They insist that Crimea, like every other part of Ukraine, belongs to the Ukrainian people. Emergency workers continue to save lives and protect the city. Families stay hidden in shelters, hoping for safety. The latest attack shows that the war is far from over. Kyiv hit continues to be a significant topic of discussion around the world.
