Kristi Noem Robbed During Easter Dinner In D.C.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem was the victim of a bold theft while celebrating Easter with her family in Washington, D.C. The Kristi Noem robbed incident unfolded during a Sunday evening dinner, despite her being under Secret Service protection.

According to sources close to the situation, Noem’s purse was taken by a white man wearing a medical mask, who swiftly exited the restaurant. Surveillance footage later confirmed the suspect’s identity and actions, but he remains at large.

Purse Contained DHS Badge, Cash, and Makeup

The theft wasn’t just a simple purse snatching—it was a significant breach. The bag reportedly contained over $3,000 in cash, her passport, driver’s license, prescription medication, blank checks, house keys, makeup, and even her official Department of Homeland Security badge.

Noem, nicknamed “ICE Barbie” for her often law enforcement-themed attire, confirmed the robbery while appearing at the White House Easter Egg Roll the following day. She said the matter is still unresolved and that authorities are working on it.

DHS Confirms Incident, Cites Family Outing

DHS spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin confirmed the Kristi Noem robbed report in a statement. She explained that Noem was out with her children and grandchildren at the time of the robbery. The funds in her bag were reportedly withdrawn to treat her family to holiday gifts and activities.

“Her entire family was in town, including her children and grandchildren—she was using the withdrawal to treat her family to dinner, activities, and Easter gifts,” McLaughlin said in an email.

Secret Service Reviews Security Footage

The Secret Service has launched an investigation into how the incident occurred under their watch. The footage clearly shows the suspect seizing Noem’s bag and leaving the restaurant undetected. However, no arrests have been made so far.

Neither the Secret Service nor the Metropolitan Police Department offered additional comments beyond the DHS statement. The restaurant where the incident took place has not been named publicly.

Security Breach Raises Questions

The Kristi Noem robbed incident has sparked concern over how a top national security official’s personal items—including her government ID and badge—could be stolen in such a high-profile setting.

Critics say the breach raises serious questions about operational security, especially given Noem’s prominent position and the sensitive items involved. Others point to it as another example of growing street crime in the nation’s capital.

As of now, the suspect has not been located, and the investigation remains ongoing.
