Kelce welcomes Trump to Super Bowl–but what about HER?

President Donald Trump’s upcoming presence at Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans has stirred mixed reactions, with Travis Kelce calling it an “honor” and Patrick Mahomes admitting he was flattered by the President’s recent praise.

Mahomes Reacts to Trump’s Comments

Earlier this week, Trump congratulated Mahomes without naming him directly, saying: “I don’t want to say [who will win], but there’s a certain quarterback that seems to be a pretty good winner.”

When asked about the comment, Mahomes responded on Wednesday, saying: “Obviously, it’s cool to hear that he’s seen me play football and respects the game that I play. It’s always cool to be able to play in front of a sitting president.”

Kelce Welcomes Trump’s Super Bowl Appearance

Kelce took things a step further, embracing Trump’s presence at the game. “It’s awesome. It’s a great honor, I think no matter who the President is,” he said. “I’m excited because it’s the biggest game of my life, and having the President there—it’s pretty cool.”

Divided Support Among the Chiefs’ Inner Circle

Trump’s Super Bowl appearance comes amid political divides within the Chiefs’ circle. While Taylor Swift publicly endorsed Kamala Harris and criticized Vice President J.D. Vance, Brittany Mahomes, wife of Patrick, has previously supported Trump.

In September, Trump thanked Brittany for her social media support, writing: “I want to thank beautiful Brittany Mahomes for so strongly defending me, and the fact that MAGA is the greatest and most powerful Political Movement in the History of our now Failing Country.”

Trump’s Relationship With the Chiefs

Trump’s presence at the game comes as part of a shifting dynamic with the Chiefs. While he once mistakenly congratulated the team as being from “the great state of Kansas” after their Super Bowl LIV win, he has since maintained a positive relationship with the organization.

After the Chiefs’ AFC Championship victory, Trump posted on Truth Social: “What a GREAT Team, Coach, Quarterback, and virtually everything else, including those fantastic FANS, that voted for me (MAGA!) in record numbers.”

Trump vs. the Eagles

Unlike his warm words for Kansas City, Trump has a strained history with the Eagles. After their 2018 Super Bowl win, he disinvited the team from the White House, citing players’ plans to boycott the visit.

With the Chiefs and Eagles set to face off again, all eyes will be on how Trump engages with the game—and whether his presence influences the already headline-grabbing Super Bowl showdown.
