Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have finalized their divorce and are now both single.

LOS ANGELES — Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are officially divorced, as confirmed by the Los Angeles Superior Court on Friday.
A judge approved their divorce settlement on January 6, with the terms taking effect on February 21, following California’s mandatory six-month waiting period after Lopez initiated the divorce process.
Both celebrities successfully reached an agreement through mediation back in September, thereby avoiding the lengthy court battles frequently seen in celebrity divorces.

Following the divorce, Lopez will be dropping the Affleck surname from her legal name.
While the financial arrangements remain mostly undisclosed, it has been noted that neither celebrity will be required to pay spousal support.
Additionally, as the couple has no children together, custody matters are not a point of contention.

The two initially tied the knot in July 2022, but Lopez filed for divorce just over a year later in August 2024, stating they had separated more than a year prior to the filing.
Interestingly, this was not the first time they had been romantically involved.
In the early 2000s, Lopez and Affleck met, became engaged, and even acted together in the critically panned films “Gigli” and “Jersey Girl” in 2004, before parting ways the same year — a split partly attributed to the power of the media’s scrutiny.

In a nostalgic twist, the couple reunited two decades later, much to the delight of their fans, culminating in their marriage.
Affleck’s previous marriage to Jennifer Garner, with whom he shares three children, ended in 2018.
Meanwhile, Lopez has experienced four marriages and is a mother of twins from her relationship with singer Marc Anthony.
