Jane’s Addiction cancels tour due to onstage incident

The rock band Jane’s Addiction has announced the cancellation of their latest tour after a heated incident between lead singer Perry Farrell and guitarist Dave Navarro onstage. Videos from a recent concert in Boston captured Farrell attempting to physically confront Navarro, resulting in the cancellation of the remainder of their tour. The band issued a statement on Monday explaining their decision to take time away as a group. Known for their edgy hits in the late 1980s and early 1990s, such as “Been Caught Stealing” and “Mountain Song,” Jane’s Addiction has been influential in the alternative rock and grunge music scenes.

Following the incident, Farrell’s wife, Etty Lau Farrell, addressed the situation on Instagram. She revealed that Perry had been struggling with mounting frustration due to the loud stage volume, which led to his voice being drowned out during performances. Perry, who was dealing with tinnitus and a sore throat, resorted to screaming just to be heard over the band. This culminated in an emotional breakdown for Farrell, who was seen in tears after the incident.

The band’s tour, titled “Imminent Redemption,” kicked off in early August and was originally slated to conclude on October 16 at the YouTube Theater in Los Angeles. However, in light of the recent events and tensions within the group, Jane’s Addiction made the decision to halt the tour for the time being.
