Jackson surpasses Vick’s QB rushing mark as Ravens dominate Texans

HOUSTON — In an impressive display of skill, Baltimore’s Lamar Jackson surpassed Michael Vick as the all-time leading rusher among quarterbacks in NFL history during a dominant 31-2 win against the Houston Texans on Wednesday.

After the game, Jackson expressed his admiration for Vick, stating, “Michael Vick, one of my favorite players. That’s just dope.”

Jackson broke Vick’s record while executing a 6-yard run in the third quarter, ending the game with 87 rushing yards. This performance elevated his career total to 6,110 yards, just beyond Vick’s previous mark of 6,109 yards accumulated over a 13-year stint.

In addition to his record-setting run, Jackson also connected on two touchdown passes and showcased his exceptional speed with a 48-yard scoring run that helped propel the Ravens to victory. He only played a little more than three quarters before handing over the reins to Josh Johnson with approximately 10 minutes left in the game, having already secured a lead.

“Just having fun,” Jackson remarked after the match. “The NFL is not easy. I don’t care what nobody says. It looks easy, but it’s not.”

Ravens coach John Harbaugh praised Jackson’s remarkable season, highlighting that he has achieved a personal best and franchise-record of 39 touchdown passes while only throwing four interceptions, along with four rushing touchdowns.

“Sometimes I just shake my head and say: ‘That was a really great play,’” Harbaugh commented. “I see a lot of great plays from Lamar Jackson. I told him I was proud of him. I’m not just proud of him because he makes great plays. I’m proud of him for all the things that go into making the great plays but also for all the things that he’s overcome along the way.”
