Shocking Turn: Israel Bombs Yemen After Airport Attack

A new front in the Middle East conflict has exploded into view. In a shocking twist, Israel confirmed it has launched airstrikes on the Iranian-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen. The move comes just one day after a missile from Yemen struck near Israel’s Ben-Gurion International Airport, marking the first such attack since the war began.

Israeli jets pounded Houthi strongholds in Hodeida, including the port and a cement factory. The strikes were reportedly carried out with American support, although U.S. officials have not commented publicly.

Panic at Ben-Gurion Airport

Sunday’s missile attack brought Israel’s busiest airport to a standstill. Flights were halted, passengers panicked, and chaos reigned as the missile struck near an access road. While only four people were lightly injured, the psychological impact was massive. This wasn’t Gaza. This wasn’t Lebanon. This was Israel’s main link to the world.

Flights resumed an hour later, but the damage was done. Many major airlines, already jittery, immediately suspended or canceled services. The missile reportedly evaded Israel’s air defense due to a technical fault.

Houthi Threats Shake Global Aviation

Yemen’s Houthis wasted no time claiming responsibility. Military spokesman Yahya Saree said the rebels fired a hypersonic ballistic missile and warned that more attacks on Ben-Gurion were coming. “Cancel all flights to Israel if you value safety,” the Houthis declared.

The message was loud and clear: Israel’s skies are not safe.

Netanyahu Vows Payback, Points to Iran

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu didn’t mince words. “There will be bangs,” he said ominously. “We will respond to the Houthis AND their Iranian terror masters at a time and place of our choosing.”

As the Israeli war Cabinet met to discuss expanded military actions in Gaza, Netanyahu made it clear that the retaliation would not be limited to Yemen.

Gaza War Expands: Cabinet Votes to Escalate

Israel is now fighting on multiple fronts. On Sunday, the Cabinet approved plans to expand the war in Gaza. The goal? Total military control of the territory.

Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir said, “We will operate in additional areas and destroy all infrastructure above and below ground.”

Far-right minister Itamar Ben-Gvir called for even more extreme measures: bombing food and electricity supplies in Gaza.

Humanitarian Crisis Spirals in Gaza

The humanitarian toll in Gaza is beyond grim. With goods blocked from entering, hunger is rampant. Medical supplies are gone. Looting has erupted.

Recent Israeli airstrikes killed seven more Palestinians, including two young children. The IDF confirmed two Israeli soldiers have died in recent combat.

Palestinian health officials report over 52,000 deaths since October—many of them women and children. Over 90% of Gaza’s 2.3 million residents have been displaced.

Global Fallout: Malta, Aid Ships, and Drone Strikes

International tension is mounting. Malta claims one of its aid ships hit by drones, likely Israeli. The ship remains offshore in international waters, adding more pressure to Israel’s diplomatic standing.

Meanwhile, the U.S. has been bombing Houthi targets for weeks to deter attacks on shipping lanes, with little success.

What’s Next? Israel-Houthi War erupts

The big question: can this powder keg contained?

With Israel facing rocket fire from Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, and now Yemen, the country surrounded. The Houthis are making good on their threats, and international airlines are pulling out. Global leaders are watching nervously, unsure if this is a new regional war or the beginning of something even worse.
