Is TikTok drama finally solved?

The lawsuit says Trump’s order has already caused Moe “significant distress” and “raises serious concerns for her safety and well-being going forward.”

It says that on January 21, prison officials removed Moe from the general population at the low-security federal prison for women where she is held, placed her in the Special Housing Unit (SHU) and told her she would be imminently transferred to a men’s facility.

Moe “remains in the SHU pending transfer” and “has not been permitted to have contact with others for at least four days,” the lawsuit alleges.

“If Maria Moe is transferred to a men’s facility, she will not be safe,” the lawsuit adds.

President Donald Trump dropped a bombshell on Monday. He revealed that Microsoft is in talks to buy TikTok. And he’s hoping for a “bidding war.” That’s right—Trump wants the competition to heat up.

Trump confirms Microsoft’s interest

When asked by reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump confirmed the news. “I would say, yes,” he said, when asked if Microsoft was bidding for the popular app. The president, 78, said there’s huge interest in the app and that many people are involved in discussions about a potential deal. He even said he spoke to “many people” about TikTok’s future in the U.S.

The president’s love for bidding wars

Trump is clearly a fan of bidding wars. He believes it’s the best way to get the most out of any deal. “I like bidding wars because you make your best deal,” he said as he flew back to Washington from Miami.

This comes after Trump delayed a TikTok ban. Last week, he halted a ban approved by Congress. Now, the president has postponed it for 75 days. This buys time for negotiations to continue.

Trump’s demand for American control

But Trump has been clear. He wants ByteDance, TikTok’s Chinese owner, to sell at least 50% of the app to an American partner. He’s downplayed the idea that China uses TikTok to spy on Americans. “Is it that important for China to be spying on young people?” he questioned during an interview.

The pressure is on ByteDance. If they don’t sell or make a deal, the U.S. may force a TikTok ban.

Other contenders for TikTok

There are other companies eyeing TikTok too. Oracle, the software giant, is reportedly working on a plan to save the app. The idea would give Oracle and outside investors control over TikTok’s operations, including data collection and software updates.

But Microsoft isn’t the only one in the race. Billionaire Frank McCourt is leading one group. And YouTube star Jimmy Donaldson, better known as Mr. Beast, is also involved in a potential bid. It looks like TikTok is the hottest property on the market right now.

Trump’s comments have sparked intense speculation. Will Microsoft win the bidding war? Will Oracle step in? Only time will tell, but one thing’s for sure—TikTok’s future in the U.S. is far from settled.
