Recently released 911 audio captures the harrowing moment a 7-year-old Ohio girl, Oaklynn Alexander, begged her armed father, Charles Ryan Alexander, 43, not to kill her during a tense standoff with police.

In the emotional recording, Oaklynn pleads, “I don’t want to go to heaven today,” as her father threatens to take both their lives.

A Father’s Desperate Act

The ordeal began on November 11 when Charles Alexander, who did not have custody of his daughter, abducted Oaklynn from her grandmother’s house in Jefferson County, Ohio. An Amber Alert was issued, sparking a police pursuit that ended in a standoff after officers deflated Alexander’s tires and cornered him in a parking lot.

In the chilling 911 call, Alexander can be heard yelling, “I will shoot us both, stand back!” while Oaklynn repeatedly begs, “Please don’t.” At one point, Alexander tells dispatchers he wanted to speak with the girl’s mother, Ashley Matthews, saying, “If you’re listening, Ashley, you should’ve called.”

Oaklynn’s Heartbreaking Pleas

Amid the chaos, Oaklynn asks her father, “How do you know we’re going to heaven?” and then cries out in realization, “No! I don’t want to go to heaven today.” Her father responds, “I didn’t want it to happen either; I just wanted to talk to your mother.”

The 911 dispatcher attempts to calm Alexander, saying, “Let’s not do anything we can’t undo,” and urges him to keep talking to Oaklynn to ease her fear.

Tragic Ending

As negotiations continued, officers fired multiple shots, killing Charles Alexander on the scene. Oaklynn, unharmed but traumatized, was safely returned to her family.

A family friend has launched a GoFundMe campaign to support Oaklynn’s recovery, including her mother’s time off work, mental health care, and future expenses. As of Sunday, nearly $8,000 had been raised.
