Authorities are actively looking for a 66-year-old man from Benson, Arizona, accused of making death threats against former President Donald Trump on social media during Trump’s recent visit to the U.S.-Mexico border. The Cochise County Sheriff’s Office identified the suspect as Ronald Lee Syrvud. The office is collaborating with various law enforcement agencies to locate him in connection with the threats investigation and outstanding warrants.
Although the specifics of the threats were not disclosed by the sheriff’s office, it was noted that Syrvud is also wanted for various offenses in different states. These include outstanding warrants in Wisconsin for driving under the influence and failure to appear in court, a felony hit and run charge in Graham County, Arizona, and failure to register as a sex offender in Coconino County, Arizona.
Syrvud is described as a 6-foot-tall white male, weighing around 220 pounds, with white hair and green eyes. Authorities are intensifying their efforts to apprehend him. Trump, who recently survived an assassination attempt, spoke at an outdoor rally in North Carolina behind bulletproof glass, focusing on national security during his first public appearance since the incident.
