Philadelphia sports radio host Howard Eskin has faced discipline from Phillies home games for the rest of the season following claims that he kissed an Aramark employee at the Citizens Bank Park food service, without the worker’s consent. Audacy, the parent company of Philadelphia’s SportsRadio 94WIP, initiated an investigation into the incident after being made aware of the situation, as reported by The Philadelphia Inquirer on Tuesday. Aramark is the food service provider for Citizens Bank Park, the stadium where the Phillies play.
Both the Phillies and Aramark issued statements in response to the incident. The Phillies stated that they collaborated with Audacy and Aramark during the investigations and took the accusations seriously, supporting Audacy’s decision to suspend Howard Eskin from the ballpark for the remainder of the Phillies’ games. Aramark also confirmed that their investigation substantiated the claims and worked in conjunction with Audacy and the Phillies to ensure appropriate measures were taken to safeguard their employee and all Aramark staff at Citizens Bank Park.
Despite attempts to contact Audacy and Eskin by The Associated Press, there was no immediate response from either party. Eskin, a prominent media figure in Philadelphia’s sports scene, has deep roots in the city’s sports media landscape, having been involved in the launch of SportsRadio 94WIP’s inaugural sports talk show in 1986 and continuing to be a significant presence on the station and sports television.
