  • Police found the kids unattended for 45 minutes and discovered marijuana in the car after the Glendale moms leave.
  • Officers arrested both women, and firefighters took the children to the hospital for safety checks. The incident followed the Glendale Moms’ decision to leave their kids alone.

Two mothers in Glendale, Arizona, left four young children alone in a parked car late at night. They went to a nearby bar to drink. Witnesses saw one child running alone in the parking lot. When Glendale Moms leave their children like this, it puts them at high risk. The incident happened on March 8 around 11 p.m. in the Westgate Entertainment District. Glendale police confirmed the details in a statement released along with body cam footage. The witnesses quickly checked the car and found three more small children inside. They immediately called police.

Police waited 45 minutes while searching for the mothers

Police officers arrived and spoke with the children. Some of them were too young to give clear answers. Officers stayed with the kids and began searching nearby bars and restaurants for the parents. They waited about 45 minutes before two women finally walked up to them. The women told police they were the mothers of the children. One woman said she had only gone to the restroom. Both claimed they had left the children alone for just 10 to 15 minutes. But the officers didn’t believe that.

Officers noticed signs of alcohol and questioned the story

The police told the women they had already waited with the kids for 45 minutes. One officer responded, “That’s a lie. We’ve been standing with these kids for over 45 minutes by themselves.” Both women showed signs of being drunk. Officers said they smelled like alcohol and had slurred speech. When questioned, the mothers admitted they had been drinking inside a bar close to where they left the kids. They had not made any plans for child care.

Police discovered marijuana in the car’s glove box

During the investigation, police searched the vehicle. They found a bag of marijuana in the glove box. The glove box was unlocked, and the drugs were within easy reach of the children. Officers said the situation could have turned dangerous very quickly. The kids ranged in age from about three to four years old. Two of the children were strapped into car seats. The police took the matter seriously and decided to arrest both mothers at the scene.

Firefighters took children to hospital for safety check

Police contacted Glendale firefighters to check on the children’s health. Firefighters brought the children to a local hospital. They wanted to make sure none of them suffered harm or health problems while waiting alone in the car. The officers filed multiple charges against the two women. They also noted that the kids had remained unsupervised for far too long. Police took the incident as a clear example of child neglect and reckless behavior.

Police thanked witnesses and warned against leaving kids alone

In their public statement, the Glendale Police Department praised the witnesses. “We’re thankful to the Good Samaritans who stepped in and did the right thing,” the department said. Police reminded the community that leaving children alone in a car is not just careless—it is against the law. They also warned parents never to have Glendale Moms leave kids unattended, especially while under the influence of drugs or alcohol. The department used this incident to highlight the serious risks involved and encouraged others to speak up if they see something similar.
