Horror Attack Caught On Camera
A Florida hairstylist was savagely stabbed to death by a knife-wielding brute inside a luxury apartment garage. The killer, 32-year-old Jackson Sagesse, later admitted to cops, “I just killed someone and walked away.”
Hailey Hosford, 27, had just stepped out of a rental car at The Retreat at Sawgrass Village in Sunrise around 1:30 a.m. on May 28 when Sagesse approached her. Surveillance footage shows her trying to scramble into the back seat to escape.
But Sagesse ripped open the car door, lunged in, and repeatedly stabbed her.
Second Victim Throat-Stabbed
A friend of Hosford’s returned from the apartment moments later and was met with violence. Sagesse stabbed him in the throat during a brutal struggle. Bleeding, the man managed to flee and call 911.
Cameras show Sagesse trying — and failing — to drive off in the rental car. He then wandered the garage, seemingly looking for evidence, before slipping away.
Police found Hosford lifeless in the back seat. She had been stabbed multiple times in the neck and throat and was pronounced dead at 2:01 a.m.
Killer Found Covered In Blood
The suspect didn’t go far. Workers at the complex recognized him from footage and directed police to his apartment. Cops found Sagesse at home, still wearing the same clothes. Blood was smeared on the door. Two kitchen knives were missing — one believed to be the murder weapon.
After reading him his rights, police say Sagesse confessed outright: “I just killed someone and walked away.”
He claimed he had intended to go to the gym, saw the car’s lights on, tried to call 911 but had no phone, then returned to his apartment, grabbed a knife, and returned for “self-defense.” Cops say he couldn’t explain what threat he faced.
Victim Was A Beloved Salon Owner
Hosford, who owned her own beauty salon in Fort Lauderdale, was more than a hairstylist. She taught yoga, hosted retreats, and radiated positivity.
Her devastated friend Aubrey Rosebrock shared her last message:
“Her very last message to me was, ‘I just wanted to tell you that the sun is shining, the sky is blue, the water is turquoise, and that I love you very much, and that you mean the world to me.’”
“Good Lost” To Evil
“She’s not a Jane Doe,” Rosebrock said. “There’s evil, and there’s good, and we lost the good. The good lost.”
Sagesse is now charged with premeditated murder and attempted first-degree murder. He is being held without bond at Broward County Jail.
