Fatalities and injuries reported in explosion at neighborhood campfire

A tragic incident occurred in French Township, Minnesota, where a neighborhood campfire intended to celebrate the holiday weekend turned fatal. The gathering took a deadly turn when an unidentified flammable liquid caused the flames to explode, resulting in the death of a 53-year-old man and injuring several others.

Authorities reported that the man succumbed to his injuries on Friday evening, while a child with severe burns was airlifted to a hospital in the Twin Cities area. A total of eight individuals, including both children and adults, suffered burns and inhalation injuries during the campfire mishap in the lakeside community.

The St. Louis County sheriff’s office revealed that the type of flammable liquid used to ignite the fire remains unknown, prompting an ongoing investigation into the tragic incident. The community is left reeling from the unexpected turn of events that have shaken the close-knit neighborhood.
