Falcons stage comeback victory over Eagles, as Cousins leads winning drive with touchdown pass to London in 22-21 victory.

In Philadelphia, the Atlanta Falcons secured a 22-21 victory over the Eagles, thanks to a solid performance by veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins. Cousins led a flawless last-minute drive, culminating in a 7-yard touchdown pass to Drake London with just 34 seconds left on the clock. This win was a relief for the Falcons after concerns about Cousins’ return from a torn Achilles tendon.

Falcons coach Raheem Morris praised Cousins for stepping up in critical moments and making clutch throws that ultimately led to the team’s victory. Despite a shaky start in the game, Cousins showcased his resilience by connecting with his receivers during the decisive drive, including a 48-yard extra point by Younghoe Koo that secured the win.

On the Eagles’ side, quarterback Jalen Hurts delivered a solid performance, completing a touchdown pass to DeVonta Smith. However, a dropped pass by Saquon Barkley late in the game proved costly for Philadelphia. Hurts’ final pass was intercepted by Jessie Bates III, sealing the win for Atlanta and sparking a jubilant celebration on the Falcons’ sideline.

Cousins finished the game with 241 yards and two touchdowns, demonstrating why Atlanta invested $180 million in his contract. The Falcons’ first touchdown came from a 41-yard pass from Cousins to Darnell Mooney, who contributed significantly to the team’s offensive success throughout the game.

Despite the Eagles’ efforts, including field goals by Jake Elliott, they were unable to contain the Falcons’ late-game surge led by Cousins. The game saw both teams making critical plays, but Atlanta ultimately emerged victorious with a well-executed final drive.

Looking ahead, the Falcons are set to face the Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs, while the Eagles will take on the New Orleans Saints in their next matchups. Former Eagles quarterback Nick Foles, who led the team to a Super Bowl victory, made an appearance as an honorary captain during the game, adding to the nostalgic atmosphere for Philadelphia fans.
