Explosion and Fire on Pipeline in Houston Suburb Triggers Evacuations

In La Porte, Texas, firefighters were engaged in combatting a pipeline fire that erupted in a suburban area of Houston, resulting in grass fires and the burning of power poles on Monday. This led to the evacuation of residents from the surrounding neighborhood. The incident started at 9:55 a.m. in La Porte, situated approximately 25 miles southwest of Houston.
Footage captured by KTRK displayed a park close to the fire that had suffered damage, with firefighters actively working to douse homes near the flames with water.
Lee Woodward, a spokesperson for the city of La Porte, mentioned in an email that authorities had instructed residents in the Brookglen neighborhood area close to the fire to evacuate.
