Police said Yarimi’s Audi slammed into an Uber, flipped and mowed down a mom and her three young children as well as other pedestrians. Peter Gerber
A driver kills family in Brooklyn during a terrifying wreck that left three dead and one critically injured. Miriam Yarimi, 35, told EMTs she was “possessed” and had “the devil in me” moments after fatally striking a mother and her two daughters on Saturday.
The tragedy claimed the lives of Natasha Saada, 32, and her daughters Diana, 7, and Deborah, 5. Her 4-year-old son, Philip, was also critically injured. The family had just left Shabbat services when Yarimi’s Audi jumped the curb in Gravesend and mowed them down.
Yarimi, who had a suspended license, is undergoing a psychiatric evaluation at Bellevue Hospital’s prison ward. Sources said she had recently made paranoid claims about being pursued by the CIA. Officials say she’s facing multiple manslaughter charges.
Video footage shows the overturned Audi crashing into the family after hitting an Uber. The car violently veered onto the sidewalk, striking the victims. The impact was so severe it caused multiple injuries to bystanders and left the community in shock.
The driver who killed the family had an alarming driving history. Her Audi — identified by the plate “WIGM8KER” — had racked up more than 93 traffic violations, including 20 speeding tickets and five red-light infractions. One of those tickets was issued just days before the deadly crash.
A funeral was held Sunday for the victims. Saada’s father is flying with the bodies to Israel for burial, while her husband remains in New York with their baby and injured son. Beds were removed from the family home to accommodate mourners during shiva.
Yarimi refused to speak to investigators, asking only for a lawyer. Her history includes a $2 million payout from a lawsuit against the NYPD. She has also flaunted a lavish lifestyle on social media, including vacations, luxury cars, and her wig business.
Outrage continues to grow over how someone with a suspended license and dozens of violations was still on the road. Community members and local officials are demanding accountability as the investigation into the crash that killed the Saada family continues.
