Cops Bust Spa, Discover $600K Hidden in Teddy Bear

  • Edison NJ prostitution raid led to the arrest of a spa owner and discovery of $600K hidden in a teddy bear.
  • Police seized luxury items, a Tesla, and shut down the spa for health code violations.
  • The raid was part of a larger crackdown on illegal businesses and organized crime in the area.

Police in Edison, New Jersey made a shocking discovery during a major prostitution raid. Inside a giant teddy bear, officers found $600,000 in cash. This raid was the result of a year-long undercover investigation. The business under fire was Bliss Spa. It looked like a normal spa from the outside but was running illegal operations behind closed doors. Officers arrested the spa owner and four others connected to the case.

Bliss Spa owner arrested after undercover investigation

Police arrested Daniela Diienno, the 47-year-old owner of Bliss Spa. She ran the business that allegedly offered illegal services. Detectives had been watching the spa for over a year. They finally moved in on Thursday with a full takedown. Police raided both the spa and Diienno’s home. Officers found \$650,000 in total. This included \$600,000 hidden inside the stuffed bear. They also seized a brand-new 2025 Tesla Model Y, luxury watches by Rolex and Cartier, and more than \$100,000 in her bank accounts. This became the biggest asset seizure in Edison’s history.

Edison police say spa was a front for organized crime

Edison Police Chief Tom Bryan explained the operation. He said officers worked closely with other agencies to uncover the truth. The police believe the spa was part of a larger organized crime setup. Bryan said these types of illegal businesses often hide behind real storefronts. He also said the way the money was hidden shows how complex and profitable these operations can be. He promised to keep targeting these places and remove them from the community.

Four more people arrested during the raid

Police didn’t just arrest Diienno. They also took four other people into custody. The suspects are Vanessa Bosada, 30, from Maspeth, New York; Eduardo Beilfus, 26, from Newark; Maria Palacios, 45, from Yonkers, New York; and Alisson Cunningham, 26, from Roselle. Each person was charged with engaging in or soliciting prostitution. Police released them with court summonses. Investigators have not yet shared what exact roles these four played in the operation.

Spa owner faces multiple criminal charges

Daniela Diienno now faces serious legal trouble. Police charged her with first-degree money laundering. She also faces charges for promoting organized street crime, promoting prostitution, and maintaining a house of prostitution. These charges cover a wide range of illegal activity. She is currently held at the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center. She will remain there until her detention hearing. The case may continue to grow if more evidence comes to light.

Township shuts down Bliss Spa over violations

Right after the raid, officials suspended Bliss Spa’s business license. Health inspectors also found several violations during their inspection. The township acted quickly to make sure the spa could not reopen. The business is now officially shut down. City leaders say they will continue to inspect and monitor businesses suspected of illegal activity.

Mayor says crackdown on crime will continue

Edison Mayor Sam Joshi spoke about the raid. He said his team started a major crackdown in 2022. Their goal is to clean up neighborhoods and business areas. The mayor said his administration wants to bring back a sense of safety and trust. He added that illegal operations like this spa have no place in Edison. The city will keep closing down any business connected to crime or drugs.

Police haven’t released more details yet

The Edison Police Department has not made further comments. They have not released extra details about the case or future actions. But the raid and arrests show the city’s commitment to stopping illegal activity. More updates may come as the case moves through court.
