Seven Chilean nationals have been charged with a series of high-profile burglaries that targeted NFL and NBA stars across the United States. The gang allegedly stole over $2 million in valuables from homes belonging to Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Joe Burrow while the athletes were away for games.
The burglaries began in October 2024 when Mahomes’ mansion in Belton, Missouri, was hit just after midnight on Oct. 6. The next day, Travis Kelce’s Kansas City home was also broken into. Both incidents occurred while the Chiefs were preparing for a game against the New Orleans Saints. The thieves reportedly took cash, luxury watches, and jewelry.
Two weeks later, on Oct. 21, a Tampa Bay Buccaneers player’s home was burglarized during a home game against the Baltimore Ravens. The suspects made off with luxury watches, jewelry, and even a firearm. On Nov. 2, the Milwaukee home of a Bucks player was targeted, with burglars stealing a safe containing nearly $1.5 million in valuables.
The gang struck again on Dec. 9, breaking into the Cincinnati home of Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow while the team was in Texas. The suspects stole about $300,000 worth of his possessions, including personalized diamond-encrusted chains. Surveillance footage captured them fleeing with Burrow’s designer luggage and wads of stolen cash.
Three of the suspects, identified as Jordan Quiroga Sanchez, Bastian Orellano Morales, and Sergio Ortega Cabello, posted pictures of themselves posing with Burrow’s stolen watches and cash. They were arrested in Ohio on Jan. 10 and charged with additional crimes, including falsifying federal records.
In total, the gang is suspected of burglarizing at least five homes and stealing more than $2 million in luxury goods. If convicted, each suspect could face up to 10 years in federal prison. The case remains under investigation as authorities work to recover stolen property and determine if additional burglaries are linked to the group.
