Brandon Aiyuk, the San Francisco 49ers’ wide receiver, has finally resolved his contract dispute with the team. A source familiar with the situation reported that Aiyuk and the 49ers reached a four-year contract agreement. This resolution came after Aiyuk skipped two consecutive practices despite being medically cleared to participate. The exact financial terms of the agreement were not announced initially, but NFL Network later revealed that Aiyuk will receive $120 million over four years, including $76 million in guaranteed money.
Throughout the offseason, Aiyuk had been holding out from team activities, citing a back injury as the reason for his absence. Despite being cleared to practice by team doctors before Wednesday’s practice, Aiyuk chose not to join the team, which put him at risk of facing fines. The situation saw a swift turnaround the next day as both parties managed to come to an agreement, just eleven days before the season opener against the New York Jets on Sept. 9.
This resolution marks the end of a prolonged contract dispute between Brandon Aiyuk and the San Francisco 49ers, allowing the talented wide receiver to focus on the upcoming NFL season.
