Prepare for some excitement: a sneak peek of an upcoming Formula 1 racing movie called ‘F1,’ starring Brad Pitt, has been unveiled. The film, produced by Apple Original
Films, also feature Damson Idris.

In ‘F1,’ Pitt takes on the role of Sonny Hayes, a former Formula 1 racer who stages a
comeback to the track and supports rookie teammate Joshua Pearce (Idris) on the
fictional APXGP team. The ensemble cast includes Kerry Condon, Javier Bardem,
Tobias Menzies, Sarah Niles, Kim Bodnia, and Samson Kayo, with Bardem portraying
the APXGP team manager.

‘F1’ was filmed during authentic Formula 1 events, such as the British Grand Prix from
last year and the Rolex 24 at Daytona sportscar race from January. According to
Variety, a special preview of the movie is set to debut at the upcoming British Grand
Prix on July 7, as confirmed by Formula 1’s official Twitter account.

Pitt and Idris are expected to make an appearance at the July 7 British Grand Prix,
where the fictional APXGP team will have a full hospitality unit in the F1 paddock. Both
actors had the opportunity to drive racing cars as part of the filming process, as
reported by The Athletic.

Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton played a key role in the making of the film,
contributing to the screenplay development.

Directed by Joseph Kosinski, best known for ‘Top Gun: Maverick,’ ‘F1’ is produced by
Brad Pitt, Lewis Hamilton under his Dawn Apollo Films banner, Jerry Bruckheimer,
Chad Oman for Jerry Bruckheimer Films, and Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner. The
script, penned by Ehren Kruger, was a collaborative effort with Formula 1.
‘F1’ is scheduled to hit international theaters on June 25, 2025, distributed by Warner
Bros. Pictures, and in North America on June 27, 2025.
