Blaze sweeps through east London apartment, 2 hospitalized

A fire broke out in an apartment building located in east London early Monday morning, leading to the release of thick black smoke and resulting in two individuals being hospitalized for medical care. The London Fire Brigade received reports about the fire at 2:44 a.m., with the blaze affecting the entire building, including the scaffolding around the structure and the roof.
Residents were evacuated from the building, and extensive search and rescue efforts are currently in progress. The London Ambulance Service attended to four individuals at the scene, with two of them requiring transportation to a hospital for further treatment.
Approximately 40 fire engines and around 225 firefighters swiftly responded to the fire at the building, which comprises both residential and commercial units. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, with authorities working to determine the origin of the blaze.
